Swing is your swing

I read an interview with Jack Nicklaus and he said the the first swing you develop is your swing for life, with a few minor variations. He said it is impossible to totally change your swing once you establish one. I have found after 25 yrs of playing that this is pretty much true. other than subtle things like flexibility loss my swing has not changed much at all. high hands, high finish.
anyone feel he might be right?

Not Entirely, My swing has changed it looks completely different and I have been playing for 10+ yrs and my swing was changed last year.

The weight shift is the same, but backswing and follow through are very different, I now have more control over my irons.

I would have to say it can be done, but it is like learning the game all over again.

I think your swing can change, but only if your first swing is one that is really bad. Some people have a nack for things and a lot of golfers start out with a fairly fluid swing, just need some help with weight transfers, grip, etc...but for the most part their swing stays the same.

Your swing can change, your tendencies will be ingrained. I've overhauled my "natural" swing and it's much more effective to combat those tendencies but they still creep back once in a while.

I changed my swing a couple years ago, I went from a sway and flip motion to a much better and more reliable swing...the old tapes are hilarious, my swing is quite a bit different so I would have to disagree
