I enjoy reading it, but I don't take the tips too seriously...I do find the articles infomative and entertaining, but the only tips I really listen to are from my local pro...That's just me though. I think overall, it is a good magazine for entertainment purposes, but I wouldn't subscribe hoping to join the Tour...
Golf magazine is worth the subscription; as are Golf Digest and Golfweek - all three have been around for decades and all offer good general golf information. Also, since you live in Florida, don't overlook Florida Golf, Gulf Coast Golf, and the Southern Golf Journal.
Just for fun, one of my favorite golf magazines is Asian Golf Monthly - hilarious, well worth the cost.
I always tell myself to avoid the instructional sections but I generally break down and end up messing up whatever it was I was trying to work on in favor of the latest and greatest 'smoke your driver' secrets and so on.
one piece of advice that had me shaking my head was leadbetter telling people to start their legs forward on the downswing WHILE STILL TURNING your back away from the target.....
Golf Magazine is the best at what it does. It doesn't have as many intrusive, annoying advertisements as Golf Digest, but it does have a David Feherty column in every issue, which may or may not be a selling point for some. Personally, I look forward to seeing what crazy observations David will have about nearly anything golf-related.
For weekly articles on Tour events and the results of mini-tours, amateur tournaments, and college competitions, I like GolfWorld.
