I have been plying the E5 for about 3 weeks now and 6-8 rounds of golf...They are durable, and have pretty decent length. They do not spin like a Pro V but then again they do pretty darn good as spin. I have a high ball flight and that helps but for the price i believe i will be playing them for a long while......
I found one of the e5's in the rough Wednesday. After 9 holes, it looked like it was growing hair. Maybe it's just the grooves on my wedges, but it doesn't seem to have a very durable cover. That's why I give away the Pro V1's that I find.
The feel is fairly soft, and driver distance is good though.
I bought a box of Titleist D/T SoLo's, Precept PWRDrives, and the Bridgestone e6's and the e6's play/feel the best out of the three. Drives were long and iron shots felt good. My best round to date was with the e6's.
I play the E5 because i do not need the length or straight help with my shots, the E5 spins fine for me and i find no problem with the covers
"shedding" or "growing hair" withuse of the wedges. I have used the same ball onmultiple rounds and they seen to last. most of my shorter shots check fine and they putt well.
I play the r7 425 driver and continually hit them around 270-275 avg and when i get a down hill they fly just fine.
I play the Bridgestone E6's and am impressed by their overall playbility. The distance with the driver & irons is better than I expected. The feel is good for chips and putts. The alignment aid is very good for lining up putts. I like this ball tons better than the Callaway HX Hot which is supposed to be the best distance ball out there right now. I find the E6 is just as long and much more playable around the greens than the Cally Hot. The directional control on these balls is no fairytale. It reduces sidespin very well and even bores thru the wind on those testy into-the-wind drives. Another added plus is the E6 is pretty durable and it incorporated the seamless cover like the B330 series. I must admit, there is something about the seamless cover technology that really works. The feel off the clubface when you stripe an E6 is just outstanding. Bridgestone is a real up-and-comer in the ball market and Titleist, I'm sure has taken notice.
I recently just stopped using the E6 in favor of the B-330S, but I have to say the E6 is the straightest ball I have ever hit and yes it will jump out there over 300y. My personal best drive of 377 yards was with an E6, but of course it was a little down hill, had a tailwind, the planets were all aligned, yadda yadda yadda.
Bridgestone is a real up-and-comer in the ball market and Titleist, I'm sure has taken notice.
Considering the fact that Bridgestone is one of the companies that either sued, or is suing Titleist for patent infringement, I'd say Titleist has noticed.
I've played two rounds with the e6 and am quite happy with them. I am driving the ball straight down the pipe consistently now. The odd pull but that has nothing to do with the ball. As far as the covers go, Both rounds I only played one ball per round. They did not scuff at all. Also a testament to their straightness if I finished with the ball I started with. I putted very well with them too. Again, not sure if it's the ball or me but since I switched to the e6, things are going for the better
love the e6, but cant get it to check on the green like a v1 or any other urethane covered ball. no problem though because it is very long off the tee and straight. great ball when my swing is not up to par. otheriwise i usually use the pro v1, but at the first hint of slice, e6 time..
