NIke ONE Platinum is the Same as last year, as far as I've read, and have seen so far.

I don't think so, they've redesigned both balls for 2006 and are not making the gold anymore. Good thing is, you can get the old balls for around $32 a box now.

They're out now. They actually come in a new box, it's more of an upright box so it's more square than flat. I've seen them in a couple of stores, but I think some stores are trying to sell the stock of old ones. I was just on the nike golf website and they kind of explain what changes they made, just curious as to actual performance, since I use Nike ONE's also.

Oh ,I see. Yeah, that means my local guy doesn't have them yet. Cause the last box I bought was still the old style.

Do you have a link to the differences???

Let us know what you think. I still have about a dozen or so old Blacks that I have to use up before I get the new ones.

You finish a dozen before buying a new one. I wish I was not a collector of balls. I have at least 6 dozen boxes in the closet.
2 Pro-V1 2005
Nike One Black
Bridgestone B330
Maxfli Black
Maxfli Red
Stata Tour (few years old)
Volvik Crystals
Callaway HX tour (3 sleeves)
Callaway HX Hot (with a Hotwheels Mustang in the package)

I would like more time to play them all.

Once I find a ball I like, I stick with it. I'd probably buy more at one time, but it's almost impossible to find high end balls for less than retail, even when you buy in bulk. Plus I know if I buy a box of the new Nikes, I'll never use the ones I have now.

What is the difference between the Plantinum and the Black?

Is the Black more of a distance ball and the Platinum more of a softer/more spin type of ball? Is the black like the V1x and the Platinum like the Pro V1? Thanks

I picked up a box of Nike Black's today and played. I compared them to the Titleist ProV1 and the ProV1x. The Black is a nice ball but it's a little harder than the ProV1 and proV1x which I didn't like. It seemed to be more "clicky" around the green where feel is a must. The spin was good on short shots but I can't convince my brain that a ball that goes "click" when hit will stop when I want it to. Distance was comparable to the others but it was 45 degrees out so I wouldn't put too much stock in the distance just yet. It's comparable to the Srixon ZUR. In my opinion it was not as good as the ProV1x, which I usually play. I'll stick to the ProV1x. Simp
