Rate and review the Top Flight Gamer Golf Ball here.
New for '08, it made Golf Digest's 2008 Hot List in the Gold category. If its anything like the D2 series (or better) it should be a good value at $20/dozen. Just waiting for the snow to clear out before I try them.
I will be getting 2 Dozen delivered by UPS next week. It could be a long time before the stores near me carry them and I couldn't wait. Heck Target and Walmart still have millions of XL's to sell off first lol.....................
Well they showed yp today in the mail and look and feel great. I will be playing them Saturday and will report back as to their performance. The cover feels rubbery nothing like a previous Top-Flight ball.
Not a real test but I've been putting with them in the house on carpet these last couple of days and so far they feel very similar to the D2 Feels, maybe a tad more lively off the putter face. Its gonna be a few months before I can try them out on the course but Bobx460's early report should prove interesting.

What do the balls feel like? Are they similar to the feel of a Pro V1 or is it more like NXT ?
Are the covers soft? Try to bite it! That is the true test.
I never held an NXT Tour but the Gamer has a soft rubber like feel to the cover even though it is not urethane. The box says long distance with great greenside spin. Humm a Top Flite never said spin before. So Saturdaty I hope I have a good ball striking day so I can have some good feedback here this weekend.
I hope they work out because I want to play with the same ball all the time and can't afford PRO V's. And with a moderate swing speed there hasn't been anything in the afforable price range for me that could offer reasonable compression with some spin.
I was going to go for a Box of NXT Tours which seems like they would fit my game. But the Top Flights are $10 cheaper a Dozen so I have my fingers crossed.
The D2's are good value ball so I really hope these are a step up from there.
As promised here is my opinion of the Top Flight Gamer after playing a round with them today. In a word WOW!
Callaway has a winner with these balls. They were long and straight with the Driver and Fairway Metals. They have a very crisp sound to them with lot's of feel. I swear they even roll farther on the fairway. They feel light and buttery off the Irons and have pretty good short Iron and greenside spin. I fact I hit a 9 Wood onto the green and it backed up 2 feet.
Thet have good feel and roll in the putting game.
These are definatley going to be the only ball I play for as long as they are available. Like the box say's they are my Gamer.
I found a new to me Golf store on the way home and picked up another box. They were selling there for only $17.95.
I am Happy to announce that someone has finally made a ball for the masses that don't want to pay $50 for a box.
Thank You Callaway you now have a truely dedicated Customer.
What can I say, I was really wanting to get away from used premium balls, so I was searching around and reading, as was said in the other thread I tried a couple of them during the past few days, today my golf place gave me a box of the new "Top Flite Gamers" he said they're normally 19.99 and with my bite test they felt pretty good, almost as soft as a pro-v1
So I gave it a try, I never liked the D2's the feels or the others, I tried to like them but they just didn't do it for me, and this ball having the same dimples I went into it knowing that the cover felt decent but I still had my doubts.
I cannot tell you or stress to you all that you need to give this ball a try!!! They're awesome!!! Please try them out!! It comes off the driver just like a pro-v1 and putting was flawless.Spin off the driver was not much more than the Pro-v1 but I did notice a tad more, maybe I was just having a spinny day, but around the green they checked up really hard, at least as much as the Callaway HX tours or more. I am hapy with these and think I am going to stick with these for a while or at least keep testing them out more.

For what it's worth, I love this ball. I'm not a single-digit handicapper but I can definitely feel / see the difference out on the course compared to other balls. And given my newness to the game, the price is great, too. I don't break down in tears when I lose one! I know the Top-Flite stigma, but this is one of the better balls they've come out with (in my very humble, inexperienced opinion).
I've playing them for a few weeks now and I still am very happy with them.
Besides the improvement with greenside spin these balls are real long!
And I still notice they seem to roll forever in the fairway. I also need to take it easy on the green because they also seem to roll more there.
wow, definitely something I would consider for my next ball purchase. I usually buy balls in bulk to save some cost, and usually use D2. And I usually chip and roll whenever possible. But sometimes I do have to pitch or lob it if I am short sided or have to get over a bunker and most of the times I roll it past the green by a good 10 yards. So I hope this would bounce twice and tricke. sweet.
Yes they are truely the best ball I have ever played that didn't have a premium price.
They won't spin like the Pro V's but they do check up nice. And man are they long.
I'd like a "real world" opinion on this ball's core softness, and please use another ball as a comparison point. While I don't mind giving a golf magazine's review some respect, I really prefer knowing how they feel to the members of our forum before I actually go out and spend money on them just to be giving them a try.
For example, I really like the Srixon AD333, the Nike Super Soft Distance, and the Wilson 50/50 for softness. Distance, I'm not really concerned with, though do give your opinion of the ball.
Thanks in advance.
What is a "real world " opinion. That is why I have been talking about them here to get other members to try them so we can get other reviews from differant people.
The softness of a Gamer I would compare to an NXT, AD333 and Bridgestone E5.
The Wilson 50's I found too soft and lacking in distance for me but they did play well on real cold mornings.
What I like about the Gamers is that they are a Great Distance Ball like the D2's but have the soft feel of a D2 feel with the decent spin of an NXT.
The main thing is that there are finally good quality balls available for peope who just can't see playing for Nike One's and Pro V's.
The Nike's you mentioned were next on my list to try and probably will when the store runs out of Gamers.
