Srixon ZStar

Well I had an opportunity to play the ZStar by Srixon. This is supposed to be the European version of the Pro V1. Well it is. Distance was basically the same as was the trajectory. However on approach shots for me it spun more than the Pro V1. I'm so impressed with this ball that I'm buying 3 dozen tomorrow.

A friend of mine bought a dozen and used only one sleeve. He said it spins too much for him, but I beg to differ. I can't spin a ball as much as Tiger and I welcome th additional spin.

Re: Srixon ZStar

So I tried these balls last weekend, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed. Granted it was only one round but I think this is my new ball. I normally use the Pro V1x and have recently tried the new Nike One Tours and this ball is better than both (for me), Comparable in driver distance, longer with irons, better feel and spin, and definitely more durable. I played a whole round with the same ball and barely made a scuff. I'm lucky to go 9 holes without tearing up the cover of the Nike's or Titleists.

The Srixon ZURS has been my choice for some years - it performs well for me in all areas. Shame to see it go - will definitely change to it when supplies of the ZURS finally dry up ............. .some great prices out there in the UK at the moment !

Re: Srixon ZStar

Well I''ve been playing these since early April and all I can say is WOW! I can fire at the pin and these things "stick" on a hard green and backup a bunch on a soft green. Now I can throw it directly at the pin with no worries.

That brings to mind two main kinds of spin, intentional and unintentional...huge difference between the two. Something to think about...
