Cover is not as durable as I would prefer. Hogan Apex seems to hold up well.

I like it a lot better than the ProV1. I get better accuracy, and great control on spin. Also, call me crazy, but I like how white the ProV1x is, and that it has red numbers instead of black. The Apex Black is a very comparable ball.

For me, the Callaway HX Tour closely replicated my ProV1x performance. Happy with playing either of these as well as the Apex Black.

I got a package (4 sleeves) of V1xs for my birthday. Wow, all I can say is wow. They spin like a dream and just feel incredible around the greens. If you can afford them, by all means, don't hesitate! These are the most incredible-feeling balls I've hit.

Of course, that's not coming from a pro. I just like how they feel.

And to think.....so many people say that you have to have a high swing speed or be a pro to reap the benefits of the ProV1s.

I know. While you may indeed have to fulfill those requirements to reap all the benefits, you can still reap some of 'em if you don't.

The ProV1 is amazing around the greens and that's where most high handicappers can improve their scores the fastest. My league partner is living proof.

Yeah, I would have to agree. The only downside is their price. I wonder if there is any way to get them in bulk for better pricing.

i wish they weren't so expensive too but you get what you pay for. The best deal I've ever found on ProV1s was last year when a local golf retailer had a gross of ProVs with some hideous green logos on them. They were on sale for $23.00 a dozen and my partner and I bought all they had.

Actually I've grown quite fond of the green logo and now I'm afraid I just can't part with them!

Pro V1x for me even though my swing speed is only 100mph (driver) -
I find it miles better than Hogan Apex black but it does need soft summer fairways to last and keep its colour

I found a ProV1x "PRACTICE" ball today and played two holes with it. I don't know what kind of "practice" it had been through but it felt nothing like a regular ProV1x. I played both balls on the 2nd hole and there is a pronounced difference in feel and ball flight. I've seen the PRACTICE balls for sale for about $15.00 a dozen cheaper, but if this one ball was any indication, don't waste your money. This practice ball didn't perform anywhere near what even a well used regular ProV1x does, and it's certainly not the ProV1x I'm used to playing.
