Wow. I kinda like the Callaway HX Reds (the blues are higher spin). They hold up a little better.

I've tried a couple of rounds with one and it's the first Callaway I've come across that I actually like.....odd considering I don't like the PV1x

In the final analysis I'll still stick to the PV1..........once my Volvik Green 80's run out

Cheers,
Jim

Personally I prefer the blues because of the higher spin. Helps me hold the hard greens at my course.

have you compared the hx-tour to the hx-blue 3 piece ball? is so, i would be interested.

i normally play the red apex, but i'm getting considerable more distance with the hx-tour, but it's messing me around the greens cuz it doesn't bite as much for me, thus my chipping is not as accurate as with the apex.

It's a good ball for distances, but I think the HX blue is a little softer and a little easier to control around the greens.

Well, I finally got a chance to give these balls a try.

These things are awful. An overpriced Top-Flite at best. Save yourself some money and play Top-Flite XL3000s because they play practically the same. I'd actually rather play the XL3000. HX blacks, like has already been mentioned, have no feel around the greens, they come off the clubface like a rock. Not to mention the same feel on full iron shots.

There should be one more voting category, " the snowman." I'd have voted that. I'm glad I got the dozen for free.

Since you don't like them, would you be interested in sending that dozen to me?

I could send you a sleeve if you'd like. I'd like to use the rest for my whatever/practice rounds. They are marked with a green dot if you don't mind. PM me an address.

I'll take one if you're giving them out....? Not even a sleeve, just one. I wanted to try them before the winter months go there, but the "PRO V1 challenge" hasn't sent me mine yet.

I'll take just one ball if you have an extra.

I got the 2 ball deal from Callaway, the first one I hooked into the wood and never found it, the second I found had good distance however, on chipping it sounded like a Top Flite XL. but acted like a pro v, on short pitch shots it had good spin which really suprised me because of the sound. I really like the ball if they could change the sound (click) when coming of the wedge.
P.S. tried to tell callaway about it but the on line reply page has no send button on my computer????????

I doubt Callaway would be able to "change" the sound, although a factor contributing to the sound might be your particular brand of wedge.
