The HX Tour series are one of the finest balls I've ever played. It feels a little crisp around the green, but it's very, very LONG, hits very straight, and tends to spin enough on short irons to check up (or backup) very, very nicely for me.

Overall - this ball knocked the ProV1 out of my bag. I still need to use up some old balls in my closet, but the HX Tour is my new #1 favorite.

Took Callaway up on their offer to send in a ProV1 and in return they sent a 2-ball pack of the HX Tour. Actually, I did it four times. Have not played the ball yet, but am anxious to.

Got a dozen for free, have yet to play them. I have played and liked the blues though.

received my 2 for 1 tour black's and tried them last week.

they remind me more of the v1x. very hard even though distance was good, but i'm not a long hitter either. i'm sure for faster swing speeds, it will be a very good ball.

for me, distance was the same as my hogan red apex, but not as much spin around the green.

need to try the hx-blue next.

Played the HX Black but also found that it is not for someone who has a low to mid swing speed, feels a bit crisp of the driver and irons.

triple: i really like the red apex. it comes off the driver nice, no harsh sound. I think you can probably get more distance with other balls, but what i like about this ball is it's action around the greens and with the irons. It will stop and has plenty of action when hit right. It has a nice feel to it with the putter and those chip shots.

I've tried the pro-v1 also, but cannot tell any difference. I can buy the apex much cheaper on e-bay compared to the pro-v1, so that's what i have been doing.

ps: i've tried the hawk also, it's a good ball with good spin, but the apex will really give you more spin and stop kind of control.

update on this thread for the callaway hx tour:

i've been using the momentus for a couple of weeks and it's helped me find the slot. it's hard to explain, but it just kind of showed up this weekend, lol.

anyway, when i find the slot in my swing and am playing the hx tour, it is going 15 to 20yds more than my hogan apex red, but i'm not as comfortable around the greens with the hx tour as the apex as of yet.

i really want to try the hx blue, but haven't got any yet. anybody else compared the hx tour to the hx-blue(3-piece ball). pm if need to. thanks

my swing speed is 90 to 95mph, so not a fast swing.

i still can't make any putts though, no matter what ball i'm using, lol.

Played The Ranch Club at Promontory (Pete Dye) last Friday and used the HX Tour. Liked the feel, similar to the ProV1x. Good ball flight. I did hit it through the green on a 379 yard par 4. Okay, so it was slightly downhill and playing at 5,000 feet did not hurt either. Scared the group on the green as well as me.

Softer than the hawk, with more spin. Actually, with a lot more spin.

The HX Tour is a great ball, once you get past the look. The hexagons take a little time to get used to. Good spin, but a little harder than the Apex Tours, or the ProV1s/xs. Long ball, accurate, but won't replace the Apex Blacks and ProV1xs in my bag.

I agree HX TOUR feels like V1x - maybe even harder - but I don't get any more distance with V1X vs. V1 - HX tour gives me 3-5 more yards on irons. But who needs more yard on irons. I can't tell if it gives more yards on drivers. Hogan Apex & HX Tour & V1X - all gives me harder feel than V1 and V1 dances better on greens. So I stick to my V1 for now.

To me the HX Tour was the same thing as the Pro V1 but I just tore the cover of it. The ball just scuffed soo easy. Like a four iron would mess it up and put a huge cut into it. In the end the Pro V1 just held up better. I think that is the biggest differnce.
