The One Black is the best ball I have ever played. It longer of the tee then the PV1 and just as nice on the greens. It is a good middle ground between the PV1x and the PV1. It is very durable for a premium ball and holds up well compared to the PV1. It has a lower penetrating ball flight compared to the PV1….much like the PV1x but it has the same soft feel of the PV1 and it bites the green like the PV1 and unlike the PV1x. The Nike One Black is also 5 bucks cheaper on average per dozen then the PV1. I love this ball.
I 've played a couple rounds now with the Nike ONE Black and it is the best ball I have played so far. It seemed to be a little longer than the ProV1's. I was skeptical about its ability to hit and stop on the greens, but I couldn't tell much difference if any between it and the ProV1's. Yeasterday I shot my lowest round of 80 with this ball. It was awesome.
I've played 3 or 4 rounds with the Nike One Black, and immediately noticed it to fly a bit lower and definitely go longer than the Pro V1 392 that I usually use. However, I have been finding that the Nike (at least for me) seems to scuff-up a little quicker than the Pro V1, and the skin is a little firm for my liking, especially for chipping. I'm going to try out the Nike One Gold tomorrow and see how it compares.
I've been playing the One Black for the last couple of months now and I love it. Today I went to play and was low on balls so I bought some at the pro shop.. THey don't carry the Nike balls so I went with ProV1's. After palying with the Nike ball for a while, I absolutely hated the prov1 balls. They didn't feel near as good coming off the club head of my driver or irons. They didi spin a little more than the One Blacks but that is neither better or worse in my opinion. They just felt heavier coming off the clubface than the Nikes. After my round I gave them away. Next purchase are the Nike One Platinums.
I'm not sure if it was the ball or the swing (it felt the same), but the first time out i noticed that on my drives and other long shots the ball seemed to rise slower. It started low and then slowly rose to a peak and dropped off. They went about the same distance, but it sure was a beautiful ball flight. I've definetley found a new ball to replace my pinnacle blacks . The difference between surlyn and high quality urethane was night and day. Especially around the greens.
A tried a sleeve of these yesterday. Very nice ball. I usually play a prov1 type ball. I use the seasoned ball from ebay for about $2/ball. I've used the prov1, they prov1*, and the prov1x.they are a decent all around ball. However the Nike One seemed to be every bit as long as the prov1 and maybe a little longer. The approach shots held the greens as well, but the bonus came w/ the durability of these fine balls. As soon as my prov1's are gone, if I haven't found a better ball, the ONE's have the top pocket in my golf bag.
love them, just got a box from sport chalet for 25.00 on sale. i aggree that it does increase the distance but it feels just a bit harder than the pro v1. over all, great ball. now i know i have a bit of an inside out swing with my irons, it will take some time getting used to it cause of the high spin rate..
Use these balls. Period. They have incredible spin around greens, and no spin off tee. I have used one i have for about a month. About 9 holes every 18 I use it. It only has a couple scrape marks, but still for a months use, it has stayed way better than my hx tour and hx tour 56. I still have 2 sleeves left to. I'm good to go for a little while. =) IMO this is the best ball for the price. Have seen them at Dick's for 30 dollars a dozen!
