These are great golf balls for the beginner or inexperiennced golfer. You can get 18 for around 8 dollars at walmart. These golf balls have a fluid meatal core which I would assume they are made like the older balata balls were but with a mix of zinc,neodymium and titanium. Feel wise to me they are about like the old Titleist HP2 tour. Its not the best ball but for the price I think its a pretty good deal.
The only top flite I would consider playing is the XL3000. Seems to be decent with a little spin factor. I would only use the ti tech beta titanium (flourescent yellow)to hit off the back of my #12 tee box into the river.
haha, yup been playing these balls for about 4 months. Nice 36 ball pack selling at wal-mart for around 16 bucks. Can not beat it. I really havent played around with any other ball so Im hard to suggest that they are "soft" or "hard." Will be upgrading soon to the Nike One black. But for the money, these balls are not that bad.

I really don't think anyone in the world could notice a difference. Maybe take two unlabeled balls: ProV1 & TiTech. Hit them both and then from the results of the shot, tell me which was which.

You better have a big bank account if you're taking bets on this one! Because you can't tell the difference between a hard 2-piece distance ball and most of the high end multi-layer balls doesn't mean many, many others can't.

Over a few days I played with the Pro V1, V1x, and TiTech Beta. The only thing I did not test was driving.
The Pro V1(x) is a very different ball(s) in the feel category. The TiTech feels like plastic when held, and makes a somewhat distorted click/swish noise when hit. The Pro V1 and V1x feels soft to the touch in your hand, its hard to describe, but its just about as soft feeling a solid thing can have. When you stroke the ball you get a solid, distinct "plunk" -like noise.
Once the ball is moving on the ground after a putt, the 2 different balls (TiTech and Pro V1(x)) will do approx. the same thing. The Pro V's might bite quicker by maybe an inch at most. The Pro V's do, however, definently move along with the slope of the green on a much higher level. They will not stop until the slope allows them too. I putted with 3 of each of the balls many times in my practice times over 3 days, using all 3 balls on each day.
Wedge shots are where the Pro V's really shine. The ball really jumps off of the club and goes straight and will usually bite before leaving the edge of the green. If you can get the ball to spin with a steeper impact, the ball will bite more quickly.
Contrary to popular belief, the TiTech will spin. Not nearly as much as the Pro V's, but enough for substantial bite. Many beginners (probably 95% of the ball users) use the much shallower swing plane with the ball, which is where the ball starts to suck. When the ball is hit with too much of a "hitting" swing, where the loft is not used and the shot is "punched", theres no telling where the ball will land. Although this is true with any ball, this ball is definently less forgiving when not hit straight. And if the ball is not given enough loft as it hits the green, it will just keep on rolling, probably as much and 2-4 ft more than the Pro V's. Just think of the TiTech as a great "hit and (extra long) run" chip ball in this respect.
Brief summary (my observations):
Pro V1= best ball i've used in putting ever. period. great feedback but slope must be factored in at a higher degree.
Pro V1x= best ball i've used for short irons, wedges. excellent bite. decent roll.
TiTech Beta= great all around cheap ball. dont get me wrong, this ball looks, feels, and sounds very inferior to the Pro V1's, but results aren't tremendously behind them, atleast for a middle/average/high handicapper. i'm sure as experience sets in, the roll will become a much bigger factor, but these were my personal results. awesome 1st real golf ball for beginner. decent distance, roll, bite, and value.
