I've tried both of these balls and I think they are decent balls. They sell at my local pro shop for $24.99 a dozen and is comparable to the Precept U-Tri Tour. I have gotten good distance with them but I've been dissappointed with the spin. Now, I know I'm not supposed to expect performance like the Pro V1 but I think for the price, the U-Tri Tour provides better spin around the greens. It's a decent ball but I think at $24.99, there are better deals out there. I'd also rather buy the HX Red for $29.99 a dozen.

I like both the NXT/NXT Tour balls, but I find them unspectacular in any aspect. They are a good value priced ball for MOST golfers, but not outstanding in any specific aspect (distance, feel, controllability, etc.)

Of the two, I love the NXT Tour - it feels better to me at impact, but it doesn't seem to perform nearly as well as many other mid-priced balls out there.

Has anyone hit the Pinnacle Gold Distance yet? It looks a lot like pinnacle's version of the NXT. I'm hard pressed to tell much of a difference except in price.

Although I have never hit a ProV1or 1x, I have used the NXT with great results. After beginning my season shooting in the 100's, the last 3 weeks I've been 85-90 using the NXT. I started using the Nike Supersoft balls which are cheap and serviceable, but for an extra 5 bucks the NXT provides me with about 20 yards and same spin on the green.

I just can't justify spending $50 on a dozen balls just to gain maybe 10 more yards, with the same green spin. But I'm not pro, so I may just be talking out of my rear end

Fantastic distance. Doesn't putt very well. You really have to putt it hard on the greens. But great distance. Very little spin.

I'm not fond of the feel. I know they aren't ProV1's, but these are just a little two hard at times. They feel good off the driver though, and they are long.

I like them. I have some of these in my bag and they play well for me.

This is a fabulous ball - soft and long off the tee and feels great with irons, but with enough spin to pull it back a little on the green when needed.

The Pro V1 is my summer ball, and this is now my 'other season' ball.

I just used one of these for the whole round Saturday. I haven't played a round with a V1 but this is awesome. My balls were dropping and dying on the green with everything from 7-iron up. Great distance also. Love the feel, love the look, can't complain at all. I'll play these and the Pinnacle Exception from now on, depending on what's in stock in my bag

Followup question:

The ball I played was the NXT Tour. What's the difference between that and the "regular" NXT?

The NXT is a two-piece design, while the NXT-Tour looks to be a three piece. The Tour model has what they call a dual core

I have played with the new NXT for some while now and have been pretty happy with it. It's obviously not quite in the league as a Pro V1, but you gets what you pays for.

The NXT is actually a single core ball http://www.titleist.com/golfballs/nxt.asp

Whereas the Tour version is dual core http://www.titleist.com/golfballs/nxttour.asp
