Talking Strata Tour Ace Golf Ball Review

i drive with distance and hit long irons and chips with the ace.
i like these balls and they compare to pro v, but i play a pro v on the green when putting it has better feel(softer). the ace is a good ball for 2/3 the price

I received a sleeve of these and really liked the ball. I put it a notch below the top premium balls like the Titleist Pro V1 because it doesn't have the spin they do. I found that I had good distance with this ball and I really liked the ball flight. I rated this ball 4 stars. I checked one place and they have them at $36.95. If I were to spend this much money on balls, I would probably shell out a few bucks more for a dozen Pro V1's. If you could find them for $30 or less, I'd recommend them in a second.

played them for a few holes last summer and I found them a little to hard for my swing(95mph) and didn't get the spin needed for my short game.

I received a dozen Strata Tour Ace's from a magazine subscription last year (they were supposed to send ProV1's and I ended up with both dozens ) and I totally agree with Victory. It's a good ball but not quite in the ProV1's "league." I was expecting more for the price. For a couple of bucks more you can get the best. So why bother?

Come on, admit it....You just like the the little hearts, diamonds, spades, and clubs they have instead of the numbers!

the emblems on the ball i could care less about. what i said was true.. the pro v's aren't all they're cracked up to be to me.... the ace just has a much better feel off the face of my irons and has a great deal of feel as well......

I agree. I played the Strata Tour Premier and was impressed at the flight and the spin around the greens. I was able to stick em off the face of my irons and built much needed confidence off the tee as far as accuracy. I'll be sticking with these for awhile.

I don't like the feel ( dull ) - I don't like the feedback ( Hard ) but somehow I score better with this ball than anything else ( V1, HX Tour, Nike Black etc.. )
So how should I rate this ball?

Do your playing partners mind you cheating?

Hi Copperhack87,

Do you know the rules of golf state you must hole out with the ball you played from the tee?
That means you can't change your ball on the green.

One of the great things about golf is the integrity and self governance of the players.

As for 16 clubs in your bag ..... well .... I hope you don't have to carry it.

I guess we all play the game for different reasons.

Don't lose those Pro V's and good luck.

Cheers.

Nice ball - especially now that the price has come down (what with the release of the new Top Flite line)- only 29.95/dz CDN.

4 stars - a little stiffer, not as much spin as some balls, but (at least for me) it was wicked straight. First drive with it was my longest by far that month - I only bought a sleeve originally to test it - plus, YES I LOVE THOSE LITTLE SYMBOLS ON THEM. Then again, they also remind me of the time i was "****** pillaged" playing Texas Hold'em with a bunch of friends at 3 in the morning - after about 8 cokes each. I was playing so poorly, we had to come up with a completely new term to accurately describe the quality of my play that night. But back to the ball.
