Tried out the new NXT Tour ball today. Played 3-balls for 9 nine holes. The NXT tour,Wilson Tour Elite, and the new Deep Hogan.
Dissapointed in the NXT tour. According to the new hype, the ball has been changed and much improved. Could not see it. Actually, all 3 of these were about the same with the nxt shorter than the other 2 off the tee by at least 5yds consistently.
Spin on the greens was ok but nothing exceptional.
I play all kinds of different balls...I've played with the new NXTs, both of 'em, I liked them but quite honestley I can't really ever tell the difference from one ball to the next. I usually use a distance ball, top flight XL 'cause they're cheap... I played a few rounds with pro-v1x's recently, seemed the same to me... am I missing something?
my swing speed is in the mid to upper 90's, so it's difficult for me to find a ball that does everything.
what I'm looking for is the distance of the hx-tour and the short game spin of the hogan red apex ball combined in the same ball. i'm not having any luck finding this elusive ball. maybe it just doesn't exist, but i'm not giving up.

I liked the NXT before and this one just as well. I honestly couldn't tell the difference between the two. Well the NXT 2005 was cleaner than last years model I had in my bag. My opinion is that they are a great ball at a great price.
The 2005 NXT Tour is a great ball. I found it spun more that the old one, and as much, if not more, than the Pro V (for me). The ball flew a little bit, but not much more than the old one. The biggest difference to me was the exceptional spin off the mid and short irons.
