Im bought a dozen of these yesterday for £20. I gotto say these balls are brilliant, A great driving ball with feel around the greens aswell as very durable. For the price how can you go wrong? Even if these were the same price as Pro v1's id still use these.
How do they compare to the HX Tour? (if at all) I haven't had a chance to hit the HX Hot, but I like the feel and distance of the HX Tour(even tho I play Tit Pro VI currently)

To me the HX Hot is a little harder than the HX tour but its hardly noticeable....But around the greens the feel of the ball is jus like the Tour version. With more durability and for less money, I just cant resist these balls....
Was given a box of HX Hots recently along with some other gifts: A new Callaway Green Towel, Callaway Golf Center (Vegas) Shirt, and a Bali Hai shirt. I thought these balls wouldn't have played as well as the other ones (HX Series, minus Tour) and played around the same level as the Big Bertha series. I was a little wrong. These balls play very nice all around, providing a very very soft feeling on the putting green and off the irons. Most of all: they provide durability. The cover is a different material I believe, and the Hex patterns aren't as defined into the ball as the HX Series. That's what I didn't like about the HX Blue & Red. But in summary, these balls play very good, I'm tempted to switch from HX Tour but I feel I get a little more spin with the Tour so I probably won't switch.
If you have around $25 to spare, give these a go. Just don't burn these until you try them.
I just played a round with the Hots and it was amazing. I usually play a Srixon AD-333 but I got a couple of these balls for free. I used the same ball the whole round and it still looks brand new. I love the way this thing putts. I didnt see a change in distance from the Srixon though.
I had a box of these in my hand yesterday and ended up putting them back for last year's HX Red which I've been playing and are on sale for $18. I was concerned the HX Hot was going to feel hard and not bite on the greens. From the feedback so far it sounds like they do it all. Back to Dick's tomorrow.
bought a trial sleeve, didn't mind the feel off the woods. Off the irons, i found it was quite a hard ball. Nice distance, but not when i wanted it. Airmailed a green by 20 yds with my approach. When i hit one slightly thin, i could tell. Although flight wasn't much different, impact felt like slamming a hammer into pavement.
Not much spin either. Couldn't attack pins with it as easily as some balls.
Overall probably about 3 out of 5. I'll stick to my Titleist NXT Tour's / Ben Hogan The Hawk's.
got to play with em for the first time this past week. callaway has really put out a great product here especially for 25 bucks! they hvae the distance and the feel. i reccomend em to anyone!
I played a round where I alternated between a Callaway HX Hot, BB Red, and a Warbird (that I found near the 15th hole on the course I was playing).
I can definitely tell the difference between any of those and a low compression ball like the Titleist DT SoLo or Top Flite XL 3000 Super Feel, but I probably couldn't tell any difference in feel between the 3 Callaway distance balls. The HX Hot cover seems a little more durable than the BB Red cover (but that could be my imagination).
I guess I should just play the Warbirds and save the $10/dozen for greens fees but I feel like I'd be slumming it with those.
Distance:3 Stars out of 5
Spin: 4 stars
Durability: 5 stars
Value: 2 stars
Overall its a pretty good ball. The durability is umatched by any other ball I have played. It feels very good on the green. I dont think it is worth $25 for a dozen though.
