Real Speeder in New 905

Has anyone put a real speeder shaft in the new titleist drivers. I was wondering how much it cost and how good the combinaiton was.

Depends on what kind of Speeder you want. Just know that any shaft that you put in a Titleist Bore-Thru will play stiffer. What kind of Speeder were you looking at?

Possibly 757 Speeder but I am not really sure. I currently have the NV but I hear that there is nothing like a real speeder shaft.

I hit a 983K with a 757 stiff. It was about 1.5 years ago and to tell you the truth it wasn't any different from my Graffloy Blue stiff (same ball hight and distance). It did have a little better feel to it though.

These are all stiff flex.

Speeder 553
Excellent medium spin, medium launch shaft
Swing Weight (g) 30
Length (in) 46
Weight (g) 59
Tip Flex (mm) 105
Butt Flex (mm) 85
Torque (degrees) 3.4

Speeder 569
Average-better player, average tempo, slightly higher spin than Speeder 553
Swing Weight (g) 30
Length (in) 46
Weight (g) 55
Tip Flex (mm) 122
Butt Flex (mm) 82
Torque (degrees) 4.4
CPM 265

Speeder 652
Perfect ultralite shaft for medium swing tempo
Swing Weight (g) 31
Length (in) 46
Weight (g) 66
Tip Flex (mm)108
Butt Flex (mm) 80
Torque (degrees)3.7
CPM 275

Speeder 757
Better player, quick tempo, fast swing
Swing Weight (g) 40
Length (in) 46
Weight (g) 77
Tip Flex (mm)108
Butt Flex (mm) 75
Torque (degrees)2.5
CPM 280

These are just the the most popular Speeders. There lesser known are the 869 which is a good fairway shaft, the 660 TR wich is like the 757 on steriords and 771 which I have never hit before. The shaft can make a world of difference. It is the only thing between you and the club head. There comes a point in stiffness where unless you have a very fast swing that any very stiff shaft will do. You can get to the point that any shaft will feel like your swinging a 2x4 peice of wood. The Gaffalloy Blue is an example. IMO it is a very stiff shaft that plays stiffer then it is rated. It plays even stiffer in a bore-thru club like a Titleist. Yes it is simular to the 757 however the 757 feels way better.

I have a 905T 9.5 Degree on the way with the squarest clubface possible but I have stuck with my tried and true NV65 to power it.

Ya they were all stiff. I have a 905T 9.5 degree on the way with a blue X-stiff. I was thinking about the titleist speeder but I choose the blue. If I had the money i probly would of gotten a real speeder or a diamana instead of the blue but thats an extra 200 dollers.

There is no doubt that the Speeder cost a bundle. The Diamana is a wonderful shaft too. If your playing a X-Stiff blue in a 905T you have man's swing. That is super stiff.

JC, what's the difference (really) between the 983 and the 905. I've got a 983E w/a fuji 652 in it... and as most of us tend to do... I almost feel like I need to "upgrade" to the 905... worth it or not ?

Actually I've got the "E".. it plays infinitely better than the stock Fuji that came with it.

You know marketing will tell you otherwise but I hit them both pretty equal. And for what they charge for it, if I don't like it, I can put it on ebay and double my money...

Why you no good at-cost buying son of a.......... gun. My brother does a similar thing.. he'll buy a driver w/a good fuji shaft... take the shaft out, put in something cheaper, and sell the re-shafted club and the pulled shaft at a pretty decent profit. Which helps me out, I've got my own personal little demo shop down the road at his house ! The club manufacturers are going to have to really upgrade their marketing now that the "line is drawn in the sand" so to speak w/the COR...
