PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! That's the only solution. No such thing as a quick fix. A belly putter may or may not solve the problem. Regardless of whether or not you get a belly putter(good one or bad one), you will still need to PRACTICE ! So - my advise to you is to............PRACTICE.

I agree with dieter. The only way to get better at putting is to putt period. There is no magic bullet that will make you into a great putter overnight.

You say you don't have much time to practice? Then make your practice count. One way is to take 5 balls to the practice green. Start 2 feet away from the cup. Practice until you can make all five three times in a row. Then move out to four feet. Same drill. Then six feet, eight feet, ten feet, as far as you want to go. But mostly practice from ten feet in. When you get to the point that these are almost automatic, then you will see your handicap come down and your enjoyment go up.

By the way, what's a "gimme"?

Re: belly putter

3girlsdad,

Practice is good advice and can be fun but suggest you get some guidance/advice on proper putting technique(s); you don't want to practice and groove a bad putting stroke.

Good luck

Try some next time you are at the golfstore. Also, it sounds like your problem is with technique (from your wanting to try a belly-putter), rather than with reading the greens, judging the pace etc.. You can practice putting technique at home: And get your daughters into golf while you are at it!
