If golf shoes are waterproof, there will be a one-year or two-year waterproof warranty listed on the box or on a tag inside. FootJoys are good shoes that hold up well with reasonable care, but the GreenJoys that you're looking at do not have a waterproof warranty. They are a comfortable, stylish, lightweight shoe, but they aren't designed to keep your feet dry in wet conditions.
Check out the other shoes' descriptions on the FootJoy site to see the warranty information I'm talking about. Even the DryJoys have only a two-year waterproof warranty.
my only advice is to find a pair that is comfortable...... i have a pair of bike air aberdeens. and my feet just ache after 12 holes. i would say that is the most important thing.
If you are looking for comfort, you have to check out the Footjoy eComfort. They are the most comfortable golf shoe I have owned. They feel great right out of the box.
Ive heard nothing but great things about footjoy shoes...too bad they dont make them in my size :( The ones I have just ordered (the only ones who make a size 17 gofl shoe) are the callaway CG pro series saddle...waterproof with an adjustable inner insert pads so you an adjust the with and comfort to your liking...there are tons of great golf shoes out there...best thing to do is to go out and try a couple on at a golf store or pro shop..then go from there
Yes, find shoes that are comfortable first and they need not be the mosty expensive. I bought a pair of Dexter Mocs (cheap $30) on the net after first trying them out in the Pro Shop. To my surprise these are waterproof and are still going strong after 10 months continuous.

Size 17? I'm really happy that you were able to find someone who makes a golf shoe to fit you. That, my friend, is a big shoe, and you must be a fairly big man, which makes the whole issue of finding a comfortable, supportive golf shoe that much more difficult.
I hope that you're happy with the Callaways. Keep us posted with your reaction to the shoes.
