hybrid

I am having trouble hitting my 3 iron and want to get a hybrid. However, I hit my 5 wood very well. It is 19*. What loft of hyrbid would replace my 3 iron, but not conflict with my 5? Any suggestions?

Most 3 iron hybrids come in the 19*- 20* range. For all intensive purposes a 5 wood and 3 iron are almost identical. It all comes down to what you hit best. If you have no problem with your 5 wood I would see little reason to get a 3 iron hybrid.

A 21* or 22* might work... provided you hit it as well as the 5 wood, it should come up 10-15 yards short of your 5 wood distance... would that fall right in the gap, or would it be too long/short?

take the distance of your 5 wood (for me 180 metres) , and your 4 iron (or the iron that you can hit comfortably ...which for me is a #5) and get a club that covers the distance in between..

i suppose from personal experience, i suggest a 20 or 21.. cause even if the degree of a 5 FW of 19 degree against a 19 degree hybrid , the longer shaft length and the bigger head will surely guarantee a further distance with the FW , although a bit of dispersion of your shots direction will be expected.

cheers

What about a 7 wood. Maybe the same brand and shaft as your 5?

Nike Cpr hybrids are very good. I have a 26* hybrid to replace my 4-5 iron

I would look at a hybrid in the range of 20*. You will get slightly more lenght with the longer shaft of the fairway so going to a degree higher and a shaft that is around 2" shorter will fill the gap for you.

Thank you all for the help! I will try to hit a 20 or 21 degree hybrid this weekend.

with your 5w being 19*, I would look for a 21 or 22* hybrid.
