problem?

I just purchased a 9 degree G5 with an NVS-Stiff....ive been hitting it now for about 2 weeks and im really hitting the ball inconsistant...the inconsistant part is hitting low pull hooks that seem to roll about 200 yards...I dont know whether this is shaft related or the fact that its a 9 degree head or maybe just swing related........the problem is that ive always hit 10 degree to 10.5 degree drivers but everything seemed to just go to high with really no distance...When i do hit the g5 good its always at medium trajectory but the ball just dives down to theground so quickly...any help with this would be great..thanks

Sounds like you are over taxing the shaft.

What are your swing specs.

Speed, Avg Drive, Tempo, tendencies, etc...

I can possibly help pin point if it may be the shaft, which it seems to be?

Let me know, and I will be glad to help.

my swing speed is not that fast....its like 90-95 mph.... average drives are like 240-250 as of last year....tempo is a little quick from the top which i think may cause the snap hook.....i usually always hit the ball straight...my misses with the g5 have been all left...ive only been able to hit a fade with the club a few times and when i do hit afade the ball goes far...with an in between mid to high trajectory which i want...my other drivers caused me to balloon the ball up in the air..i want something where the ball will go mid to high and then roll alot. that was my primary reason for switching to the 9 degree..just so i could get a little roll out of the ball

I don't have this problem. Of course, I have the best shaft to ever grace the Earth. What are your shaft specs? 65 gram stiff flex? Also, try to stuff your right/left elbow into your pocket on your downswing. This will help you get an "inside approach" to hopefully remove the hook. Also, stand a little closer. Maybe you are standing too far away from it and just reaching. Who knows. I can't tell without seeing your swing.

I was having some problems with that same shaft. So I switched immediately. Good luck with yours.

Thanks for the help everyone...im thinking the NVS is just not a good shaft for a driver...i have the NVS stiff in my 2 fairway woods and i love them.i hit the ball straight as an arrow and farther than my driver most of the time...im thinkining on going to get a reshaft with a YS 6 in a regular flex for the driver....this will maybe stop the pull hook and get my driver back on track.
