looking into the callaway ft hybrid, ben hogan cft ti, TM rescue dual, ping g5 hybrid, and the Cleveland Halo. if any of you have hit either one of these i'd appreciate if you could list the pros/cons of them, particularly shafts, how they set up, and their length and trajectory. thanks
You really need to try hitting them yourself to see which one you like the best. What works or feels right for someone else won't necessarily work for you.
i plan on doing that. i just wanted some background information so i can pick a place to start. notice how i only asked how these clubs perform for the user.
You might want to try the new slingshot hybrids as well. The tour version of it has way less offset than the regular and is fairly easy to hit. It's a great looking club too. Of those you have listed, I have only tried the rescue dual and I was launching that thing pretty high and far with an easy swing.
You might want to consider Innovex in your comparisons. I have tried them all. I have a slow tempo in the 90-95 mph range and hit the reg. Innovex the best of any I have tried.
I recommend the Wilson Db6. I have a Taylor Made rescue dual, and it's a good club, but I don't really reckon it's worth the extra money. My dad has the Wilson and it's phenominally easy to hit. Good enough for Padraig too.
i have a TM rescue Dual in my bag and love it. i have the 16* steel shaft. i switched the weights to bring it back to neutral, which eliminated most of the snap hooks i was getting in the beginning. normal ball flight for me with this club is a draw. distance? i find myself using it off the tee a lot when the fairway is tight or i'm not feeling the driver that day...250ish. cons would have to be that i have problems hitting fades with it. this is strange for me because i've always had a left to right ball flight and now have issues being comfortable setting up right of my target line. rockBottom had the best price i could find on it.
I have the Ping G5 with the Graffaloy Blue HY Stiff shaft in it. I hit it about 230 (16*/4 Wood). I love it. It is a little bit less than a 4Wood based on the length of the shaft. It is only about 10 yds shorter. The G5 is better IMO than the Rescue Duals. They are decent, but with the Graffaloy Blue shaft, you just can't beat the G5.
I'm using the Taylor Dual T.P. models. They work very well. I went with the T.P. because I found the Std. models very hooky. The T.P. are almost hook proof.
Using them out of fairway bunkers is like cheating.
In the end all that matters is what works for you.

I have the standard rescue-mid in 22* and it definately has a large draw bias. I'm thinking of changing it out b/c I almost have to completely change my swing to hit it straight.

yeah the reason i've given the G5 so much consideration is because of their high-end stock shafts. what's your typical trajectory with it and does it have a draw bias?
