Taylor Made R7 425/460

Anyone have either of these two drivers?

I'm currently using the Original Cleveland Launcer 460 and like it, but I'm wanting to get a new driver and get it fit for my specs (launch monitor, shaft, etc..) I've got all of my other clubs fit to what I need except my driver, go figure.

I love my V-Steel 3 wood and I'm thinking of going with one of the new R7 drivers (either 460 or 425). I'm kinda leaning toward the 425 the most as it seems its the more popular of the two.

Who has it, and what do you all thing about this driver?

well you should remember that the taylormade R7 460 doesnt come out till the end of the month, but i have hit both and prefer the 460 over the 425 based on feel alone. the 425 does have more weights to it, but most people dont bother with those anyways

I've got the 425 tp, 9.5..75 gram rombax stiff. It's a sweet club but not that much different than my old tp. If I catch it on the hot spot...slighty above the sweet spot and towards the toe..it does give it a low spin, long ride. It would be interesting to hit the 460 and see how different it is. I messed with the weights twice and then put them back in the neutral configuration.

I have a 425 and love it compared to the previous r7. The size look perfect when at address, and once the weights are set right the ball flight is sweet. Not sure if the shaft is a huge upgrade, but the overall feel of swiging the club is very balanced in my opinion.

Can Tell you after tomorrow

I should be able to give you an opinion after tomorrow evening. A friend and I are going to Memphis to the TaylorMade Demo Van day to demo both of the new drivers. I think there might be a Clevland rep there also with the new Launcher too. I will get back with you in a couple of days.

I hit the 425 today at Dicks and liked the feel, but I wasn't swing well because I was hitting everything off the heel. Nothing center so I didn't get a good feeling swinging. Everything still went around 265 on the heel hits so I guess that is good.

Both hit well

GOt back about 9:00 last nioght from the demo event, I hit the R7 425 and the R7 460. I thiknk they both feel really good. After last night I thiknk that I am going to go with the 460 with 9.5 and the stiff shaft. I was pretty consistant on th launch monitor at about 12.6 of launch angle, 145-150 mph ball speed, 3100- 3400 revolutions per minute with the 460 9.5 stiff. I also hit the new Clevland Hi Bore and all of the other major manufacturer's newest drivers, anyone who needs any info feel free to ask.

They are both very good drivers but not worth the money IMO. The movable weights do not make that much of a difference for the extra $100.

You're right. I played yesterday and was hitting my launcher 460 very well. Why fix what isn't broken, right?

Comparing the 425 to the quad, is the difference that much more? Would you say it is just a matter of it being "new" and wanting to spend the xtra $$$? I just got my quad and I just love what it has done for my game. I've went from a G5 460 clone to this and there is quite the difference all around.

P.S: When someone trys to tell you that there is really no difference between the real deal and a clone, don't buy into it because I was one of the most biggest activist for this and I have spend way TOO much $$$ since Dec finding this out.
