reshafting my driver

ok...so im finally gonna go ahead and reshaft my ignite while ive got the cash. shaft needs to be 100 bucks or less. I want a medium-low ball flight. It's gonna be a stiff flex shaft. What would be a good choice for an Ignite 10.5? should i go 65g or 75g? a shaft that somewhat helps fight a hook would be nice as well.

I don't know a heck of a lot about shafts, but I read many reviews and chose to go with the Accuflex Evolution. It has a medium ball flight and I am fairly aggresive my swing, so the stiff shaft was the way to go for me as well. The cost was $89 at golfsmith, so I am sure you can do better elsewhere. I think the shaft weight was in the 60's.

Check reviews of the shafts and their respective web sites (Fujikura, Accuflex, UST, Aldila). I think you will find what you are looking for.

Gafalloy Blue can be had for less than $60 bucks (= installed for less then $100.00 even if you get one PURE'd from Golfsmith) and it will bring your flight down significantly, it's also very low torque (2.8 I think) which should make it quite a bit harder to hook than the stock graphite in your Ignite. Caveat: this shaft is extremely stout so unless you swing very hard and probably at least in the 105 swing speed range the R flex would likely be best. My driver SS is in the 100-105 range and S flex in the Blue feels too stiff on all but my best swings, the R flex plays well for me and it feels stiffer than the stock stiff graphite my buddy has in his 9.5 Ignite.

Go hit diff. shafts on a monitor. A little extra work but it is worth it. Also make sure you get Golfsmith to do it and get it pured for 10 bucks more. If you do not have a Golfsmith you can send it in to them. Good luck

I had my Ignite shafted with the Grafalloy Prototype Comp NT stiff shaft. Unfortunately I got a Sasquatch a month later so I didn't get to play too many rounds with it, but the times I did play, I liked it. Felt like I had a lot more control over the ball and maybe 5-10 yards longer. I got the shaft from Golfsmith online for $80. Whatever shaft you get make sure it's a .350 tip.

Accuflex Evolution is the shaft your looking for. It is a low torque...2.8... that will help your hook...low ball flight and feels great. All for about $85-90.

I just changed to the Graffaloy Blue shaft. I was having problems with the Aldila NV shaft that I had in my Cleveland Ti 10.5* driver. I was hitting it to high(and I am a low ball hitter) and hooking it too. I swing it around 105 mph on average and the stiff Blue works just fine. Seems to work better for me when I go after it also. Medium ball trajectory(good combination of ball flight and roll) and no more hooks. I think it weighs about 63 grams. The shaft ran me about 80 bucks installed.
