How often and how much to Regrip?

Hey, just a quick quesiton to you guys. I bought a set of used Cobra's and the gribs are pretty worn down. I personally have had them for about a year now, and was wondering about how much it costs to regrip? Thanks guys!

Grips could cost anywhere from $2.00 each to as much as $7.00 each, depending on where you buy them and what style of grip you want. Then figure that the guy installing them is probably gonna charge you anywhere from $25 to $50, depending on how difficult and time consuming it is to get the old tape off of the club.... Figure about $4 per grip/per club for an average, and then another $40 in labor. I think that would pretty much cover it.

You can order your own grips from places like GolfSmith or Golfworks and save some money by not only getting the grips cheaper, but doing them yourself. They're not that difficult to do. You would need a work bench and a vice, but outside of that there is really nothing expensive or overly difficult about it. They will send you a small instruction pamphlet on request that explains to you how to change grips. Or.... just ask the guy that normally does your grips if he could show you how to do one of them.

Oh yeah, forgot to add this... Normally I regrip my clubs at least once each season, and in some cases maybe even twice if I play a lot. If you're playing less than 50 rounds each season, I'm not sure that you would need to have them regripped more than once, unless you go to the range quite a bit as well.

I typically charge $6.25 for composite grips and $7 for WINNS or Corded grips. I think that this is about what you'll find. Previous comments regarding frequency are right on.
