Can anyone recommend a shaft for my 87 mph swing speed ...
... for my short irons?
I'm considering the DG R300, or even the DG SL R300, and I'm open to some graphite shafts, too.
BTW, I shot a 41 on the front nine a few days ago, and that was fun, getting 5 bogeys and 4 pars. (OK, I shot a 49 on the back nine.)

I would not suggest going to the Lights as they will give you more of a boring trajectory. They play alot stiffer due to having to strengthen the tips wall for a lighter steel shaft. Also to let you know that the DG's will offer a low trajectory for more aggressive swings.
IMO I would go with something that offers a soft tip that will be active during the short irons. My recommendation would be fitting you in a set of Rifle 4.5's or AccuFLEX Step Steel for more activity.

Can you elaborate a bit? I took a look at the FST; it seems similar to the Dynamic Gold R300. So, how does the high kickpoint work with scoring irons?

Kickpoint is a FEEL thing... only minimally impacts trajectory. What kind of feel do you like? High like in DG, or low like in TX90... The FST Pro White is in the middle.

I thought kickpoint affected the trajectory of the ball, a low kickpoint generating a higher loft and so on.
If it's just a matter of feel, then how much does it really matter?

Kickpoint MINIMALLY affects trajectory. It primarily changes the feel of the shaft - i.e. how "stiff" or "loose" it feels.
