I'm going to regrip my clubs.....what grips do you prefer.
I'm looking for standard grips - not fat or thin etc.
I'm looking at Winn G8, Winn Excel, Winn V17, Golf Pride Dual Durometer, Golf Pride New Decade MultiCompound but are these any better than Golf Pride Tour Velvet - I could get nearly two changes of the Tour Velvets for one set of the others.
Winn grips have always felt too "squishy" to me and I've never been able to get used to that. The Tour Velvets hold up better and just feel better to me. My 2 cents.

I like tour wrap-type grips, and I know from personal experience that while the Winn Excel feels nice, durability isn't a strong point. I've ended up replacing them about twice a year. They're also a little scary when playing when it's rainy. I'm switching back to good 'ol Golf Pride Tour Wraps when the Excels start deteriorating again.
Don't have much experience with the other 2 Winn grips - maybe durability isn't a issue with them?
Ok thanks...so the Winn grips are a bit squishy and may not be the best in the rain...well I'm from Ireland and the days that it doesn't rain could be counted on the fingers of one hand....ok that's an exaggeration but I do play maybe 10 per cent of the time in the rain.
Tour Velvets are cheaper, more durable and better in the wet - ok so you've convinced me.
I've got the new decades, and will never go back to anything again, they are a little expensive, but they hold up well and feel even better, pretty good in the rain as well. Probably the best "feedback" grip I have ever used, just enough comfort for both hands, yet firm enough to let you know if your doing something wrong.
I like the Decade grips as well. They have a soft feel, like the tour velvet, but the upper half is cord. They also maintain their tackiness very well. From my past experiences I've played Tour Velvets in regular and in corded. Both seem to get hard and slick after 10 rounds. I found myself roughing up the surface before every swing with a towel when they started to get slick/hard. Can't go wrong with either the TV or the decades. Both are my favorite grips.
