Best fairway wood shaft?

I am getting my broken BB 2004 3 wood reshafted and I need some recommendations for a good shaft. I want something that will give me more control and a tight dispersion. I should gain distance no matter what going from steel to graphite and a longer shaft. I was thinking of the ProLaunch. Any other recommendations? It will be a 65 or 75g stiff flex.

Be very careful going from steel to graphite shaft in any Callaway club - it will be difficult to get it properly swingweighted. The steel shafts weigh 110-120 grams , and the heads are weighted to match, weighted differently than the graphite shaft heads. A few years ago I made that transition on a GBB driver and it was never right.

I highly recommend the ProLaunch Blue. I have the 65s in all of my woods (11.5* driver, 16* 4 wood & 20* 7 wood). I have been playing it for 2 years. Great feel and trajectory for me. You might want to go with the 75 gram shaft since you are replacing the steel shaft though. If your driver is around 65 grams then go with the 65. As stated above, you might have to add some lead tape to bring the swingweight up to match your driver.
Hope this helps you!

My driver has a 55g. I think I am going to get the Prolaunch 65g. How is the accuracy gbc bruce? What kind of trajectory do you get?

I hit the ball pretty straight but can work it either way if I have to. These shafts are very consistent. They have a nice feel and the low torque helps keep the miss hits straight. My normal trajectory is medium / low. These shafts along with the higher lofted heads give me a medium / high ball flight which is perfect with todays golf balls (I play the Pro V1). The 65g prolaunch should be perfect for you since your driver is 55g.

AccuFLEX Icon FH or the Graphite Design Purple Ice. Both are very good.

AccuFLEX Icon FH (which standands for Fairway/Hybrid shaft) is going to give you exactly what you are looking for. Its an 80 grams shaft.

Remember that with the heavier and more centered Fairway heads a light weight shaft will tend to cause less consitancy for the golfer (softer tip and less weight for the golfer).

Another vote for Accuflex FH. I just had Christian put one in my V-Steel 4 wood and played a round Saturday. I hit 3 of the par 5's in 2. Awesome shaft for my swing. I am finally able to get a decent launch from a fairway wood.

Todd, How's the new shaft compare with the Taylor Made shaft? What difference did you see? I've got the v steel 4 wood and am thinking about re-shafting.
