im in the market now for a strong 3 wood...13 degrees or so. i want a club thats easy to hit and looks nice, what would you people recommend?oh and btw thanks for your time!
I bought an older version of the Orlimar Tri Metal 12* at Big5 Sporting Goods for $60. I tried my buddies TM VSteel and I like my Orlimar better. It has a lower profile and hits well off the deck. I am able to get to Par 5's in 2 and I also outdrive my dad's driver with this club, and he has the new R7! This club used to be one of the elite fairway woods out there. Now I have it for half of what it used to cost.
Cally X Tour 13* Comes with good Fuji Tour Platform shaft, constant alignment sole (which really works btw) and is very easy to hit off the deck. Very solid, good feel and bad swings still yield good results.
The sonartecs are also very solid clubs. Best feeling fairway woods you will find from any manufacturer. Not as easy to hit but if you have good fundamentals you will never go wrong with a sonartec in your bag. They typically have lower ball flight with boring trajectory. NP-99 is the best feeling and they are under $200 now. Were $349 when they came out. SS 2.5 and 3.5 are the new offerings. They also have Fuji TP shafts. Seeing a pattern here?
The R7 TP is another good stick with Vista Pro 80 shaft. Once you get the wieghts right it's a solid performer all around. $399 price tag though. Find one cheaper on eBay.
Cleveland Steel and Comp are both good as well.
You'll find all of these in the bags of tour players.
Bang-O-Matic is one of the longest out there made from not just steel but from Beta Ti. Its a low profile head and great out of the fairways.
I know this is an OEM recommended site but don't forget this fairway in your search. They are very propular with components right now so much that I have been having to order 5-10 a week of the 3 woods only.

How much are yoou gonna be hitting it off the deck? Cuz if your hitting it off the deck alot I would say your gonna wanna go up a dergee to 14 because it would be way easier to hit off the deck.
My vsteel 13* is great! I usually outdrive my buddies with it and its fairly easy off the deck (although i dont use it off the deck too much) Great sounding also!

i just bought a 13* V-Steel last week, think i paid $129 at Golf Galaxy. anyways, i absolutely love it! off the tee i can hit it about 240-250, of the deck up to 240yds. easiest fairway wood that i have ever hit, also has an amazingly hot face, ball just flies off of it. if you can wait on it you can pick one up on Ebay for under $100 in good condition.
i have a titliest 980f 13* strong 3 wood tour model (no serial #) repainted, (looks like new) with a graghite design ys8 stiff flex you can try, if you like , send me $100. if not, send it back.
I have to agree with the V-Steel. I got the T/S 13* model and mostly use it off the deck. If I tee it up it is not tee'd very high and it is dead accurate and very long. They are cheap on ebay and other places as well...
Find a Callaway warbird duece! I have one that I take with me to very tight courses. I have had it for 8+ years. Great club. You could probably ebay one for $50 then invest in a good shaft. Just my .02 but it would be a great, cheap option
