Golf Balls

Another quick comparison is to use TGW's golf ball comparison chart. For instance, the ProV1x, HX Tour 56, B330s,Z-UR all have anywhere from 330 dimples to 332 dimples, whereas the Nike One balls have 408 , V1 has 392, and the Tour Deep has 382 with the 6 deep dimples as the HX 56 has.

Dimples matter.

I don't think that an average golfer is going to notice the difference in dimples on a golf ball. I don't know what the difference is anyway. What I look for is the softness of the ball. I like a soft ball b/c I get much more feel around the green and that I can tell the difference.

It has been proven that the number of dimples doesn't really make any difference in ball flight or carry. Rather, the shape and depth of the dimples and coverage that matters. By coverage I mean the newer balls are seemless so the eintire surface of the ball is covered by dimples ie. Hx Tourl, B330 etc.

It does not matter one bit. Any of those premium ball will do the trick. Same way any of the mid priced do the trick.

In the end all there really are in the entry level balls is ones that go a mile and don't bite and ones that go a mile and sort of bite!!!

I think a player should always play the best ball they can afford. I'll never understand the skilled player that has 4,000.00 of clubs in the bag and uses 9.99 a dozen balls???

For the avg. player I'm sure they all play about the same. I know from experience with the HX Tour and ProV1, there is little difference in teh way they play. The proV1 seems to of softer feel and flies farther, but the HX Tour will stop on a dime and seems easier to control spin on chips around the green.
