Looking for some game-improvement irons

Hey guys,

I'm 23 and have never really taken golf seriously but have started playing a lot since I graduated and haven't found a job. Pretty much I'm looking for some game improvement irons. I went over to Golf USA and got to tryout the Slingshot OSS, Big Berthas, Cleveland Launchers, and some Cobras. Out of all of them I liked the Launchers the best and the Slingshots the least. Does anyone have any advice or personal experience on the Clevelands or have any other clubs you think I should get?

Thanks,
Chris

Take a look at the Ping G5's. I have the G2's and really like them. You may be aboe to get a good deal on the G2's. They are very nice clubs

Clubs are such a personal thing. You're new and probably not very good so my advise to you is this. Go to a Golfers Warehouse(or whatever you have in your market) and just try a bunch of different clubs and see which ones feel good to you. When you find something you're comfortable with, buy a used set inexpensively. Remember, the clubs themselves aren't going to make you better, you have to do the work. Once you get your game in working order and understand what you're looking for, then spend the money on some new clubs. Don't let anyone talk you into buying brand new expensive clubs. Always check ebay. They have the best deals.

First of all welcome to the boards Second of all if you havent taken a lesson lately, I'd take a lesson first, then get clubs. If for nothing else than to know that the swing you take with you to try new clubs is on the right track. It'd be a drag to buy a set, change/improve your swing, then find the clubs don't fit you anymore. Other than that I'd recomend Ping in the uber-improvement catagory. Either G5s, G2s, or even Eye 2s.

Look at Adams irons as well or maybe even an Adams full set. I still think it's downright stupid that Adams isn't taken as a major brand. I am a mid handicapper playing beginners irons and they are still good for me. I won't be getting a new set for another year.
