Well I ordered some project X shafts a few weeks ago for my Nike Pro combo irons. I should be reciving them this week maybe. I got them in a 5.0 and I heard they do play pretty stiff. I read alot of reviews on them from this forum and they seem to get mixed opinions, so i figured what the **** il try them out, im fed up with the nike speedstep shaft i feel like im hitting a rock since i shortend them. My usual shot is very high with the pro combos/speedstep setup, so i was wondering what or if i would actually gain anything switching to project X. I know i am probably getting much better shafts then speedstep, but do u think i will add any distance or accuracy with them compared to the steedstep shaft i have now.

I play with Project X 7.0s, they are great shafts. A tad on the heavy side, but I like heavy shafts... they give me a flatter flight than dynamic gold X-100s, which I like.
Have them frequencied (sp? watev) for consistency, you should always do it with new clubs IMO...
I don't know if you'll gain distance with them but surely more consistancy and feel...
Did you get fit for them or did you just buy them?
no i did not get them fit, I just read some stuff about them and thought id give em a try. My swing is kinda out of control at the moment so being fitted is kinda hard to do for me right now .
Well your getting a much better shaft but you might not see to muc h of an improvment unless the shafts really work with your swing even if they arn't custom fit.
I agree, getting fit is very critical for shafts... buying things off the rack is a hope and a prayer (so to speak). I got fitted for Project X High Launch 6.0, and have loved them. They are definitely heavy, and that takes some getting used to, but the feel is better than anything else i have hit. They are very accurate, and due to swing improvements and the fitting I am consistantly hitting my irons further than before the switch. I would highly recommend Rifle Shafts to anyone, and Project X is no exception, they even look better than "stepped" shafts, which is a minor but personal point none the less.
