Guys just wondering would this club be a good option for me. its going cheap at my local golf shop at the moment. im a reasonably long hitter but i have real problems hitting my 3 and 4 iron. So if im maybe 190 yards out im stuck between lashing my 5 iron or just hitting an easy 5 wood. so would this be a good club to fill the gap and if so what loft would you recommend?
Absolutely - I have 2: a 2 "iron" and a 5 "iron," which actaully plays as a 4 for me because I have weaker lofts. Check the manufacturer's website to get the lofts of the irons you want to replace and then get the corresponding Rescue Mid, bearing in mind that you will hit the mid farther than you would a similarly-lofted iron.
A useful club in my book. Bought one to replace 3/4 iron at 19degrees with stiff graphite shaft. Took alittle getting used too, but now very useful from 190-220 in, off a decent lie on fairway or rough. Not had much luck out of any longer rough with it though. Also good for the low-flying t-shot off a very low t on the narrow par 4's.
I have one with 19 degree loft, i use it to replce my 3 iron, hit it about 190-200 yards, nice club, needs some getting used to as all hybrids do but worth the money, i am hitting it pretty sweet last few rounds :)
i just got two of these, one in 19 degree loft and the other at 22 (replaced my 3 and 4 irons). they are so easy to hit it is ridiculous. i can hit them dead straight for over 200 yards easy including out of rough (ok, maybe like 190). i would HIGHLY recommend these clubs over the traditional long irons. i have heard that the cleveland hybrids are nice too, but i never hit them. the rescue mids are only $100 each.
