New driver, hit on a swing monitor today.

Went to Nevada bobs today to look at a new driver. Thinking about going with the Callaway Fusion FT-3, 9 loft, with a draw. I hit this club the best, when I did hit it right (I tend to slice) It went straight and long. According to their launch monitor, my ball speed was around 163mph, which puts my club head speed at around 110mph, launch angle was around 12 degrees. Distance was around 290 yards dead on.

Now, this was with the NVS stiff shaft at .55 grams. I was thinking about switching to a ProLaunch shaft around .65-.75 grams. How much of a difference would it make? I haven't hit the shaft yet, but that was what was recommended on their site.

Any other shafts you can recommened would be great, I can get the shafts put on from the callaway factory for an exta $25.

I love the NV personally, but UST do make great shafts too. With your swing speed you may well prefer the slightly heavier Prolaunch, although you can get heavier NV's.

They didn't have the Pro on a callaway club, but they didn't have a Pro .65 on another club and I'm gonna go back and hit it to see how it feels. Graffolly recommends the Comp NT 65 for me, but can't get that (atleast don't think so) from callaway, they only offer the Pro Launch and ProLite

Those launch monitor #'s are spot on! Dont change a thing. Use the NV if that was the shaft you were swinging.

The more I read and talk to different people it seems that they are about spot on, so I think I'll stick to the NVS shaft for now. Can always buy another staff if need be.

Be careful not to tinker to much! Golf is so dang addictive expecially equipment. I think someone once said "If it aint broke, dont fix it!" Or something like that.

Was it a launch monitor or was it just one of those simulators? I would be leary of their numbers if it wasn't an actual launch monitor. I go to Dick's all the time and swing clubs while my wife is shopping in the mall and the number of their machines are terribly off, usually inflated to make it seem like you're really smashing the ball.
