sheel shafts, reducing by 1/2"?
i know graphite shafts are easy to cut down to size, but what about steel shafts of an iron set?

no harder than graghite, hacksaw or tubing cutter works very well. use a piece of sand paper or a file to smooth out the sharp edge.

Wouldn't that also cause the shaft to have a stiffer flex, thereby, not being a recommended option?

negliable effect on flex, I would guess...besides, ever so slighly stiffer would be preferred

1/2" really can't change the flex at all.
