Who was Scotty Cameron's Mentor?

Who was Scotty Cameron's mentor for making putters? I have heard it was Tad Moore but when I look up Tad Moore's putters on eBay they are selling very cheap.

Is there a reason Cameron Putters are so much more expensive. Just curious because I am looking for a new putter and if the Tad Moore putters are just as good as a "Scotty" then I might pick one up.

IIRC, Scotty worked for Ray Cook for a time in the '80's.

Think of Scotty Cameron putters the same way that you would with, say, a pen. You can use a Bic or you can use a Mont Blanc. They'll both get the job done, but one will do it with style, precision, and grace. Of course, you have to pay more for the extras...

FWIW, I have three Camerons.

SC's do not help you get the ball in the hole. What they do do is let you have a much greater sense of feedback on a putt than normal putters

The retail Cameron’s are priced right. It takes time and money to mill a putter out of a solid block of steel. As far as a tour Cameron....the price is out of control. The tour Cameron’s market is controlled by a few large accounts that keep the price up and has become a cult following. I would get a Slighter putter made custom to my specs before I get another Cameron for the same price. www.slightergolf.com
