Disadvantages of to little torque?

I just demoed a Titleist 905r with the UST V2 shaft. I hit it great and it cured my little hook that had been developing. The torque is 2.2 which is very low. What can happen if you buy a shaft with to little torque? Will it result in slices or pushes or both. Even though i hit it great I am a little wary of buying a shaft with this low of a torque since I am not a huge swinger ( 95-100 swing speed with moderate tempo. Thanks

Hi guys... I found this link that addresses torque:
http://golf.about.com/od/faqs/f/torque.htm

Mississippi, do you feel that the shaft with 'less/a higher torque #' caused the clubhead to 'close' more at impact, causing your hook/pull, and the lower torque kept the face more square for your specific swing, right at the moment of impact? (sounds like it). I am in the midst of choosing between low & moderately low torque shafts now... will try em' both :>) Regards.

shafts with that low of torque rating can do one of two things for you, help you by giving you a tighter shot dispersment of hurt you by being too boardy and you will see loss of distance and even accuracy (mainly pushes and pulls), due to tring to make the shaft work. generally ,these shafts are usually, but not always, a heavier, stelthier shafts, usually 75 grams or so. lets take the ust v2 stiff, torgue rating for a 75 gram is 2.2, but that same shaft in a 65 gram is 3.0.
it's a matter of finding the right shaft for your swing, not always easy. steel shaft virtually have no torque, yet , they can perform well (did for many years), if you get the right flex, so to me, the flex and bend points are more of an issue.

Thanks for the advice. I really think I have developed a swing flaw...I think my grip has drifted into a to strong of a posttion and I need to work that out. The low torque shaft is prob. just covering up my flaw because I am hitting a very large draw with all of my clubs.

the v2 took the occasional left pull out of my swing. I actually feel that the v2 in 6.2 frequency is a little on the whippy side, but it is ok. Shots are tons more straight, but I did loose about 10 yards of distnance comapred to the 60 gram GBB I had and then also 1/4" less over all length. THe GBB had a firm flex and it would never catch up to me with 112 mph swing , club face would be open at impact due to shaft lag. I would get the occasional straight out bombs, but the left and right shots were costing me strokes. Soon as my ego adjust I will be happy, but its kinda bad when you know you were 20-30 yards further on a hole last week ..........but hey I am in the fairway now
