It's a very good head, but the shaft is iffy. I'd hate to guess how many I've reshafted.

Which R5 do you play, N or D? The Cobra drivers have a HUGE hookface on them, even the X-Speed.

I play the D model. But I am looking for a little more distance.

The shaft is no good, but I like the driver...above is right about the closed face except for the x speed which is .5* open...I play the F and had to adjust set up for the closed face but find it quite reliable with a new shaft in the club...controlled fades are difficult but I think that it is as much me as the club...

I have been told yes.

What is so wrong with the shafts? They are supposedly aldila nv's.... are they not the real version or something?

I know they say that, but set that sucker on the ground and tell me it's open. Even the X looks way closed to me.

I dunno...side by side the f is definitely closed and the x looks flat...as for the shaft it says aldila nv, but it is a 55gr weight, for me really whippy and loose feeling (and performing)...I switched out for an NV 75 cut to 44" and have had much better results...
