Cleveland launcher vs Mizuno mp-001

Im looking for a new driver because i currently use my brothers (Callaway big bertha 9.5 with a firm flex shaft RCM i think) anyway i can hit that around 250 yard range... think i might need a stiffer shaft though...

looking for somthing little more forgiving with a 460cc head.. im looking at these two right now.. can be any Launcher or mp-001 really.. maybe with Adila nv65? anyone test both these out? the Mizuno looks to be alot cheaper... or can anyone suggest any other drivers?

If you get on ebay the original Launchers can be had for pretty cheap ($140 or less). I've played with the Launcher Ti460 for a little while and have hit the Mizuno and found that distance-wise they were very similar. The differences came in forgiveness on off-center hits. The Launcher still got the ball about 80-90% of the distance on off-center hits while not straying offline too much. The Mizuno was not as forgiving for me and I was punished much more both in direction and distance on off-center hits.

The MP-001 will be cheaper because it's an older release, Mizuno's current newest driver is the MX-500.

If price is not an issue get the MP-003 Driver from Mizuno Japan.

Go to test a Launcher Comp also, it has a better trajectory than previous Launcher 460. Launcher 460 (1st generation) is very easy to hit and get airborne, but sometimes it hits the balls too high.

I have owned both drivers and you can see by my WITB which one I prefer.

I echo "pgonza" when saying that the Launcher is more forgiving. The MP-001 reminds me more of a Titleist type driver where if you put a good swing on it and consistantly hit the center of the face you will be OK.

As far as the NV shaft I love it...I am planning on getting a Launcher Comp with the NV this fall because that combination gave me the best #'s on the Launch Monitor.
