depends on how much money you have.... but the wiser choice I think would be to find someone with a club that has the shaft you want and hit it to see how it is instead of paying money both ways to have it reshafted.
30 bucks is what it cost me to get a driver reshafted that had a bore-thru which is usualy more money. Then you have to have the shaft. So maybe 30$ each time or the guy might make you a deal if you do get the old shaft back on it.
I would try and find the combo you are interested in like mentioned above. Is there any particular reason why you are wanting to change shafts? Most golf stores usually have a pretty wide variety of shafts and drivers available to demo.
i'm happy with my driver, but the shaft feels kinda whippy. also, when i go after the ball i hit a nasty slice, yet when i keep it at about sixty percent it flies nice and straight...the only problem is that it goes all of 200 yards. so i'm guessing that i may need a stiffer shaft. i have another driver that has a graphite design ys6 in a stiff, it feels really nice, but i'm hesitant to switch them over only to find out it's not just the shaft but the combo...

So for most shafts you would be in the category. It does sound like your current shaft is holding you back. What the best thing you can do is to contact Christian with CGS, tell him what your current shaft is doing now, what you are looking for in a new shaft (ballflight, feeling you want from a shaft, etc etc) and he will be able to recommend you a few different shafts to look into. It would also help to go to a Golfsmith or similar store to get the current numbers from your driver (launch angle, SS, spin, etc) that way you are working with actual numbers than guesses.

Yes, if you go to Golfsmith or wherever they have a launch monitor, you can find out from them whether you're having shaft trouble or not. Ignore them if thry're trying to sell you a new driver. Instead, ask for a shaft recommendation. Then you can have a comfort level that you've done the righ thing. They have a large selection of inexpensive shafts ( expensive too ). You can probably by a decent shaft and reshaft it for less than $100.
what about a pulled shaft from ebay? just incase i do need to change the shaft in my driver, would a pulled shaft be a good option, or are there too many variables involved that could make it a bad move? thanks...
This is an ideal situation to PM me on... I am always willing to help a GR member without them having to pay alot. Give me a call or send me a email and I should be able to help you find a good price to make it cost effective...
