Wilson Pro staff (The really expensive ones)
Callaway Warbirds in my bag (Not too expensive)
Dunlop (Cheap)
Ill tee off with my callaway and if the round go well i will upgrade to my wilsons and if its poor then i will downgrade to my dunlops. More often than not i dongrade because I cant keep buying expensive balls.
That is an extremely good method. Maybe I should try something like that
The Black Max or The Hogan Hawk - I always start with a fresh sleeve and the ones I don't use, I just leave in the bag. After a few rounds I clean out the ball section and put all the new balls together and start using them. The ones that I have used and are still in good shape, I'll use during casual and practice rounds. In all, I generally have around 20 balls foatin' around my bag.
7 ProV1 ...at least one that is new...every round. I don't sweat the 'distance' thing. From 150 yds in, these are on the green and NO ball putts like a Pro VI.
Played from Back Tees this AM and I was almost Always away..LOL
24 Putts put me in 2nd. Greens were excellent and fast
I've been playing Pro V1's for some time now. I'll buy a new dozen now and again, but I've been buying the AAA used balls on ebay, and they're almost brand new. I got 40 V1's for about $25. Luckly I also find a couple on my home course just about every time I play.
I carry a dozen balls or so, and I probably change balls a couple times a round on average.
...... When I find other balls on the course I'll either leave them or give them to a playing partner, unless it's one I feel like trying out.
Yeah I do the same thing. My friends love me because I have boxes full of found balls and I just tell them to take as many as they want. Most of them aren't too picky because they're higher handicappers and don't know the difference between a Pro V1 and a Noodle.
I just "upgraded" to Pinnacle Golds now that I'm not shanking a half-dozen into the woods each round. I usually carry 2 sleeves with me, plus whatever I find I toss into the bag to use for risky shots near a hazard.
In the last 2 seasons I have played various Top-Flites, Neudals, Nike, Titlelist, limbo-Intech, and another soft ball that the name escapes me....
The real soft Nike I tried seem to hit the hole and drop better that a hard ball, and the soft ball will hit the green and stop regardless of how well hit.
The hard ones...top-flite or titlelist go about the same distance......
Overall my best putting was with titlelist
I am using the Limbo balls right now, and they go far when hit well..
Been playing the noodle - usually between 6 and 15 in my bag at a time. I just got 3 dozen nitro tour fusions real cheap on ebay, and I'll see how they are. They are a 3 piece, urethane covered ball... I'll see how they stack up.
Started with, dunlop cheap and were quite nice, but over the years ive found hundreds of balls in the bushes (where i spend most my time) now im using the likes of callaway and titeliest.
I usually finish a round with the ball I started and come back with bagful of found balls. Pv1 is longest when I swing good but pv1x is longer when my swing isn't so good. HX tour is more consistent and shorter by 5-10 yds on a driver distance but 2-3 yds longer on irons.
