Cold weather and low compression balls

For those members of GR that play premium balls during most of the year, and switch when it gets cold, at about what temperature do you switch to playing a low compression ball? I've heard of people doing that, and was wondering when exactly do you switch. Is it when the temperature is in the 50s? In the 40s? 30s?

I guess I would play somewhat more cold golf than most here (by the fact that it isnt as cold here, we can play in it when alot in N.America have to give it up for the season). I will basically play down to the temperature at which the course freezes (so basically 1 or 2 deg C) and I dont think it makes any appreciable difference with a premium ball. If it is cold enough to be concerned, control on the greens is not going to be possible full stop, feel is going to be severely limited and distance would again be almost the same. If the temperatures you speak off are not cold enough that these points are valid, then most certainly the compression should not concern you!

Of course this may well be a bit different for total rocks!

Once the temps hit 40f or lower, I go to softer balls....if you can fiond them the Strada Tour Straights are the lowest compression golf balls at 37 rating.

But this past year, I opted for the 70 compression Volvik "Optic Orange" balls...play weel and easier to see in the grey skies and snow patches on the fairways.
