Even though the thing looks ugly as sin, I want one. I buy way too maky drivers looking for the "Holy Grail". The current driver in the set-up R7 Quad is the closest I came to finding one so far.
I'd have called rear projection TV's seriously ugly... but it hasnt stopped a serious percentage of N.Americans buying them...
All this talk of looks is one thing, but I think you will find that the evidence will tell you again and again that if something does its job better than anything else, then looks will be neglected.
I bet my life that if you handed ANY 460cc club to a regular joe golfer 20 years ago... they would have said it looked absolutely horrific. But look how common they are!!!
Well not all innovations within a market succeed.... a few that come to mind:
Chevy Corvair
New Coke (the redesigned formula 1985)
The Famous Flying Disc
Pontiac Aztek
Point is, b/c it's innovative it doesn't mean it will be successful. If you change things too far outside the norm to quickly, then sales of a product will def. be effected by it...
