Ordered New Shaft Today

I ordered the new Grafalloy Pro Launch Red (reg) for my G5. I wanted a .350 tip but it was only available by special order and would take a couple of weeks to get in, so I'm getting a .335. I found out today that most of the major component and shaft dealers are shying away from carrying the .350 tips because there isn't much opportunity for any volume in sales. Plus the custom components all use the .335.
Anyway, if it shows up on Saturday (which it should because it's FedEx) I may have a report on it by Tuesday.

Shaft Update

Well the vendor let me down. They didn't ship my shaft as promised yesterday FedEx, so it didn't arrive today. So I emailed them, cancelled the order, and went on a quest for a new driver shaft.
I ended up at a clubfitting shop that a friend recommended. After discussing my dilemma with the club pro/owner, I asked if he'd put me on the launch monitor and spec my swing. I hit 9 drivers with various shafts. The lofts on all the drivers were the same, but the shafts varied in length, flex, brand. and torque.

these are the shafts I hit:
Harrison Mugen Stiff
Harrison Pro 2.5 Reg
Harrison Pro 3.5 Reg
Graphite Design YS6+ Stiff
UST Proforce V2 Stiff
UST IROD Stiff
HTD CB-65 Stiff
HTD CB-65 Reg
Grafalloy ProLaunch 65 Reg
Aldila NV65 Stiff

I hit 3 balls with each one and then we narrowed it down to 3 shafts.
Harrison Pro 3.5 Reg
UST IROD Stiff
Grafalloy ProLaunch 65 Reg

I then hit 3 more with each of them.
That eliminated the Harrison. The UST IROD Stiff and the Grafalloy ProLaunch 65 Reg were very close with the IROD feeling a bit better.
He didn't have the IROD in stock so I went with a used ProLaunch.

He "pured" the shaft and charged me only $40 for everything. He also said if I didn't like the way the shaft performed return it and he'd give me full credit on a new IROD. Now you can't beat that.

Anyway, there's more to this story but it should be told in another thread. This may have been brought up before I joined here, and if so please pardon my repeating something someone else said.

Look for a post titled: What I learned about graphite shafts!

A VERY wise move! I don't mind Pot Luck Suppers at church, but not when I am dropping a wad of money on a new shaft. I think your experience of going to a pro fitter and trying out several different shafts should be a lesson for all of us.
