I often play a set of Armour 845FS irons I bought new last year. I think they were the last refinement of the 845 series and a later model that the 845OS. They are nice cavity backs and sweet clubs. I don't think there has been that much improvement in the technology since them, just a lot of new cosmetics by the various brands. The basic design of them is about as forgiving as a golf club can be. Some of the newer models might have a bit wider sole, but the cavity back principal remains about the same, I think. The 845 series is a real classic and I meet a lot of good golfers that still prefer and use them.

I agree! These were and still are a very popular iron. Unlike many irons out now, they do have some head weight to them. For a feel player, they work. By the way, if anyone is interested, I have 3 new sets of 845 OS. One with TT TX 90 A flex, one with TT DG stiff and one with TT DG regular flex. They are a display in my shop and will let them go for pennys. Interested, drop me a line at puttin4bogey@sbcglobal.net.
