best way to clean grips?

What is the best way to clean grips? I know this sounds like a stupid question, but I dont know if water damages them?? I have Winn Master Wraps if that makes a difference.

I use a little 409 spray cleaner, a soft bruxh or cloth and rinse in water. All modern grips are made from a rubber or synthetic plastic material...how could soap and water hurt them? I sure would not put any kind of petroleum based solvent on them, tho....that WOULD dissolve them...but soap and water?....nah. Otherwise, they would melt in the rain.

Use warm water unless they are really dirty and use a bit of soap.

Take an old golf towel or rag, and use warm water and any kind of soap. That will get the grime off, and imporve the tackiness overall... it is a good idea to do this every now and again, you will definitely notice a difference in the feel of the grip if you havent cleaned them in a while.

Does that grip rejuvenator stuff work well?

I never clean my grips, I usually just replace them each Spring.

On rubber grips I use Wesley's Bleach White (the stuff you use on vehicle tires/whitewalls). This stuff is great for getting grime and oil off grips, returns them to brand new.

Hint

Don't use Armor All on your grips...you'll kill somebody.

Wire brush, 409 and warm water for my cords. That's why I like them, it makes them new again.

I'll have to try the Wesley's bleach.

Well on the Winn website, it says not to get Winn grips wet. Your just supposed to wipe them with a damp cloth. Check out the website. http://www.winngrips.com/thegrips/gripcare.html
