What about Irving King?

Hey guys, just wondering if you knew anything about the Irving King line? My dad has an old set of blades in his attic that are of that brand name. I'm not necessarily wanting to play them, just curious about what grade of clubs they were, and if they might be worth getting out of the attic and re-gripping, or just putting up to preserve them. Any info appreciated in advance!

By the way, all I remember about them is the brand, haven't seen them in a couple of years, so I can't speak as to the model #, any markings, etc. Sorry

Nobody ever heard of it? I am only 25, so I am not familiar with it. Just wondering who bought them out, what quality they were, etc. Thanks

Re: What about Irving King?

Irving King put together a great set of clubs. I was lucky enough to have represented his product line and had a set until last November when someone broke into my vehicle and decided they needed them more than I did. This set of clubs dated back to early 80's. I had a blade putter that was the sweetest ever. Have not been able to find anything close to the quality.
Lee Trevino used his Kings persimmon woods on occasion and was very successful.
I have searched several sites to try and replace my clubs but have been unsuccessful as has been the law enforcement agencies here in Utah.
Take good care of them as there are few left. Not sure if Irving KIng is still around. I will continue my research. KIng was from Louisiana area if I remember correctly.

Dust them off and go to the Range, I think you will understand why your father had such a quality product.

Re: What about Irving King?

Irving King manufactured golf clubs in Shreveport, La. I had a set when I first started playing golf and wish I had kept them. Not sure about the value you would receive by selling them.

If I ever run across a set like I had I will buy them just to keep.

Have a good weekend.
