How Long to Adjust to new clubs?

Hey guys, just wondering your opinion on how long it takes you to get used to new equipment. I just got back into golf seriously this year, and have had a new set about a month. I am now used to the irons, fairway, and driver, but it's taking me a while to get used to the wedges. The putter is worst of all I got it free with the wedges, but have always used an anser-style putter. It is hard to get used to the center-shaft. How long should I give it? When should I consider getting something else? I am on a budget, so can't just up and change. Thanks for your input beforehand.

Sometimes putters take awhile to get used to. Sometimes, you just need to switch something out when you're just not comfortable over it.

The TW(Tom Watson, not the other TW...)wedges are good sticks. They just take practice. Alot. Chipping & pitching practice is highly underated.

Hey, what do you think of the GT3s? I've seen them on closeout & was thinking about experimenting.

Can't complain about them. Good cast cavity-backs. Got em for 125 brand new on eBay. They are good, forgiving, oversize irons. 3&4 irons pretty easy to hit, (I've never had a lot of trouble with them anyway though). I hit it HIGH.

You have some good equipment in your bag.

But sometimes one must give up at some point, my experience :

1. I gave up on a Feel AW after 1 year. Went for a Callaway Forged AW. Reason : Weight. I play my chips and pitches more consistent with heavier wedge heads.

2. Gave up on my Odyssey whitesteel blade#1 after 6 months. Switched to MOI (2-ball) putters. Currently : Macgregor Bobby Grace and Odyssey WhiteHot 2ball (blade-face). Reason : I have sight alignment issue with the blade.

Bottom line ... although some equipments are actually not bad, you still have to know what suits you best.

My advice, If you can't work your new center shaft putter, go to the pro-shop, try some, and find your best preference.

Just an update... I tried cutting the spec 03 putter down... it helped some, but I still am not comfortable hitting the ball on the center of the shaft.Oh well, it was free. I had to go to Jackson today, and just "happened" to swing by Edwin Watts. (Gotta get Santa a list!) I was going in thinking of getting a yes Callie, or a NC Milled #1... to my surprise I fell in love with two... Ping anser g5i and Odyssey white steel #1... Think I've settled on the white steel. Got Santa a list ready. I guess sometimes you can't "adjust", plus I just love the setup/feel of a heel-shafted blade!

Odyssey WS#1 is a good choice.
Polymer insert face are great.

Initially i wanted Odyssey WS 2ball blade. But had to settle for a white hot 2 ball blade due to budget.

usually for me it takes about a week and half to break into them, the switch from a CB to a blade took me longer though

I find that irons are the hardest adjustment for me. I have been slowly workin to go from my affinity irons to my nicklaus irons and I actually didnt have time to practice with em before goin out on the course. I shot pretty much the same score but I had to struggle for the score.

Takes me a good 3-4 rounds before I really feel comfortable with new clubs. But the exception would be the MP-60's....they just fit my eyes very well. What took the longest would be the distance control.
