Game improvement putters

I have seen that there are game improvement drivers (ie offset) and game improvement irons (ie inserts, undercut cavities). Are there game improvement putters?

I currently have a Nike OZ T-130 that I bought a few weeks ago which feels very good. I realize that my practice time is spent while playing. The more putting, the more practice I say (ie 3 putts).

I was looking at the G. Rife 2 bar putter. Would that classify as a game improvement putter? Are there other putters that would serve me better than the Rife or the Nike?

I ended up buying the Rife 2 Bar Blade. I have a better feel for distance and I can "chipputt" (as described by Pelz) with it.

Most of the new putters out that are bigger in shape such as the two ball, two ball srt, three ball, Ping doc, Ping craze e, and Nike Unitized techno, are all put in this category because of the research and development that goes into balencing these bad boys!!!

You should try the New Nike Unitized Techno...It is a wonderfull feeling golf club!

The new putters are in left handed versions as well, right? I wish the blades were availible for lefties, or at least that pro combo hybrid that came out a while back... Oh well, it's going be hard to rip my current putter from my hands, but I'll give the Tiempo model a fair chance. Oh, and the slingshot hybrid as well.

I like the adjustable weight putters since I am a gadget guy. I am eyeing the Yes Callie and Never Compromise GM2 Blade. I probably won't replace my putter...I love it too much.

Yes Callie is the best out of that bunch. The Guerin Rife had just OK feel and I didn't like the way it looked at address....so clunky!

Any putter that is a MALLET would be considered player improvement. The added weight of the putter will help STABILIZE your stroke, helping most amateurs to keep the putter on plane and not get stircrazy with it. I recommend any mallet (cheap or not cheap) to any beginner or struggling player. They will see a difference.

I just bought a PING Darby. Its a mallet and I agree. I struggled with my putting last year, but this putter has brought me new hope. Cant wait to get out their and play a few rounds with it.

For me it's the opposite. I'm not a great golfer by any means (around 18 handicap) but I am horrible with my mallet putter because I have no distance control. It's too heavy for me and the slightest change in swing speed can extremely change the distance of this. I used to have a blade but it broke so I got the mallet. I can't wait to get my White Hot XG #1.

That's the advantage of the Rife is the ability to change the weight.

I practice with both the Rife Mallet and Blade but play with the Blade.

I've been using an Odyssey SRT 3-Ball since X-mas (a present) and am very happy with it. At first it looked like I was putting with a shovel, but you really can't beat it when it comes to lining up a putt!!!

I know this isnt in the clubmaking forum but, I built a Maltby MOI putter a few months ago and I truly believe these game improvement putters do help keep off center hits more online but weighing so much more than my older putter I am having difficulty in getting the speed right. I think with some time it should come around. Within six feet I have improved immensely. Over that I blast it four feet past the hole

The Nike OZ T-130 is about as "Game Improvement" as you can get.

Matter of factly, a putter head that size is total overkill. Anyone that
needs putters as large as these may as well get some putting lessons.
Triple oversized clubs like these, including drivers is really telling you
that you need to improve your putting and driving skills.

My driver's head is 400cc... still what I consider too large. I will not go larger
though. My putter is a blade, and while I'm an average putter at best, I will
not succumb to mega monster clubs... it just makes everything way too easy.

YMMV...........
