In a thread running this forum this week, the topic is Launche LP vs. Mizuno MX-17. I have a different problem, I can not decide which Cleveland to get, the CG-4, Launcher, or Launcher LP. I have been flirting with high 80s although I sometime venture back into the low 100s. I am currently using a set of SLingshot OSS knockoff I assembled, but I am sure I am missing some of the good things a real OEM iron will bring me. The LP seems a little small for me, but I am open to it if it is that good. I have mainly been looking at the Launcher and the CG-4. I know the Launcher will be good for me now, but the CG-4 might give me some room to grow into it as my skills increase.
Have you tried out each of those irons? If not, do so before you make any decisions. You also might want to check out some of the irons that Golfsmith sells. They make some really good heads, and if you can assemble them yourself, you can save a good bit on money and have some pretty good sticks when you're done.
I went with the CG4's because of the feel. The better metal makes a difference. You can feel of center shots but they are not jarring.
The control club from club is consistent. I can concentrate on a consistent setup and not focus on which club I am using.
If price is the issue they are both great, I know the CG4's cost a lot more.
If you are wanting to work the ball more look a the CG4 Tour, but for consistent flight and control the CG4 was my choice.
It is important to get clubs which fit you. Knock offs are usually a bad idea. Made to poor specs and cheap. Quality components such as wishon or KZG fit by a pro PCS clubfitter will play much better than any set assembled in china as the OEM clubs are some are assembled in southern California by well lets just say not to skilled laborers. I really dont think they care what position the shaft is put in the club. My 2 cents
I had the same dilemna you did and ended up with the Launcher LP's. I chose the LP's over the Launchers because I felt the LP's gave me the forgiveness of the Launchers without the bulkiness. Also, I get a little workability out of them. The only reason I didn't end up with CG4's was that I couldn't afford them, otherwise, I probably would have picked those up instead.

I actually assembled my own knock-offs, based on a previous fitting althought I weighted them at D3 not D2, they were a great idea. Shaved roughly 10 points on acerage off my score with them. I just want to get an OEM set to see if they really are any better than the knock-offs I assembled. Money is not a huge object but I decided I would get a cleveland set because I think they are a quality outfit for a reasonable price. Much better for me that the TM Firesole Tours I started with. But now it is time to move on. I like bulky clubs so the Launcher or CG4 is not a minus there. I have tested both of them and I can not feel any difference I hit the CG4 a bit longer and the Launcher a bit straighter. But all of this was done a a launch monitor, so I have no actually hit them at the range.
