I just won a set of new Nike Slingshot OSS irons, 5-SW. The clubs are beautiful and have a better feel than anything I've played in the past 30 years of golf. The problem I have is that they are a full 2 1/2 clubs shorter than my Wilson Fat Shafts. I normally hit an 8 iron from 150 yds. and now find that I can't reach with the 6 iron.

I can draw the clubs and fade them easier than my old clubs. I notice they are about 3/4 inch shorter and they are a regular shaft and I normally play a stiff shaft but I wouldn't think those issues would bring about such a difference in distance.

I don't know much about the clubs. Are they more for the beginner (I'm a 9 Handicap). Has anyone else had the same experience with distance?

The lenght could significantly reduce distance, but they are designed for the mid to high handicap player. I like them with graphite myself. I am playing a set of OSS knockoffs I built for myself and I love them.
